Dharma Discourse by Geoffrey Shugen Arnold, Sensei
In this discourse, Shugen Sensei describes the beginning of a real aspiration in a student to realize Buddha Nature. A few years into practice, the student’s mind becomes more settled, she becomes calmer, and begins to to experience fleeting moments of samadhi. As more is revealed, direct practice becomes more and more available.
The koan in this talk is from the Record of master Tung Shan. This discourse was given at Zen Mountain Monastery in April 2013.
